One-time friends and life-time enemies James Joyce and Oliver St John Gogarty are now locked together forever in the famous opening pages of Joyce’s Ulysses set in the Martello Tower at Sandycove. The Tower imagines what they might say to each other - with a century of hindsight and a helping of the wit and irreverence that made them famous - if they met there again today. Directed by Caroline FitzGerald and starring two of Ireland’s greatest actors, Tom Hickey as Joyce and Bosco Hogan as Gogarty, in superb performances.

“Elegant, well-observed, genuinely witty, and above all, intelligent. . . . an offering of quite extraordinary quality” – Sunday Independent

“Both actors obviously relish the literary in-jokes, the puns and wordplay ... the blend of surreal humour and contemporary setting offers a refreshingly irreverent take on [Joyce and Gogarty’s] iconic status” – The Sunday Times

“Richly lyrical ... pacy direction ... exceptional performances” – Irish Daily Mail.
